MSMEs honored for capabilities to adapt to global industrialization

Kinilala ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST) ang pangunahing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) na nakapag-upgrade sa modern manufacturing technologies at may kakayahang humarap sa next wave ng global industrialization, gayundin ang mga nakapag-adopt sa frontier technologies na nagpapatibay sa kanilang market standing.

Ayon sa Science and Technology Information Institute of DOST (DOST-STII), ang SETUP Forum and Awards ay kumikilala sa top MSMEs na nagpakita ng kagustuhan at kakayahan na umangkop sa nagbabagong industry landscape sa kabila ng iba’t ibang pagsubok na dala ng COVID-19 pandemic.

“As the industry shifts to Industry 4.0, the MSMEs are slowly pivoting to more sophisticated technologies which include cloud computing, data science, additive manufacturing, robotics, artificial intelligence, and automation, among others,” saad ng ahensya.

Ang Balubal Sash and Furniture Shop mula Cordillera Administrative Region; ACT Machineries and Metal Craft Corporation ng Region 2; Northwind Fine Herd Int’l Inc.; Nisco Phils.

Narito ang iba pang MSMEs na pinarangalan ngayong taon: Manila HealthTek Inc. bilang Most Innovative MSME; Ginga Agrifood Manufacturing Enterprises, Inc. bilang Most Agile MSME; Negros Prawn Producers Cooperative bilang Most Resilient MSME; at Provider Enterprises bilang Most Productive MSME.

“Our micro and small enterprises, as compared to large firms, often lag behind in capital, managerial and workforce skills, inability to exploit scale economies in production, and the lack of awareness on market opportunities and new technologies. And with the emergence of new industries, it is important that no one gets left behind and everyone should be equipped with the right tools and knowledge to go with the flow, adaptable, and be flexible enough to the changes brought by innovation,” paliwanag niya.
